My name is Otakar Šenkýř and I am the founder of the VIRULENT brand.
I founded VIRULENT in 2020 during the global pandemic COVID-19. In this difficult time, my world of work, like everyone else, has turned upside down. With a minimum of work and a suspended study, several ideas were born in my head, which I put together and with which I had to go among you.
Out of nowhere, the whole world appeared at home for a few months, and I thought it was the right time to try to get out with a fashion philosophy that would reflect the home comforts associated with current trends.
Why the name VIRULENT?
As I mentioned, the inspiration came at the time of COVID. The name itself can be translated into Czech as "virulent = highly contagious". And how can the term "highly contagious" be used positively? That we will make it a fashion brand, for example. A brand that customers love so much that it will be addictive and highly contagious to them.
At VIRULENT, I try to create clothes that are modern, tasteful and, most importantly, comfortable. Given that the initial inspiration came from the pandemic itself, we wanted to create a brand that would provide its customers with clothes that will be extremely comfortable and will feel like cotton.
I first wear and test all materials and cuts myself and only then I will launch them on the market. That's why I stand behind every product 100%. As one of the very important factors for the first-class image of the fashion brand, I take the often neglected packaging, on which I would like to build during the development of the brand. In my opinion, beautiful packaging is often as important as the product itself.
We process all our products carefully by hand. We avoid the machine system because we believe that every piece of clothing needs the personal care of golden Czech hands.
